The new BBSHD controller is limited to 28A instead of the old 30A. The Bafang DPC-18 LCD Display is compatible with our Bafang mid-drive motors (BBS01/BBS02/BBSHD) and front hub motors. Im on a very old PC laptop running Windows 7. You could set the current limit to 18A as well, depending on how much power you will need. You could increase the slow start number in the throttle tab. If you do pedal along at a slower RPM than the motor, it wont damage it though. You cant damage the motor or controller by setting the amp limits to low values. If the motor has a low current limit, the motor will not have enough power to accelerate the bike from a standstill, which possibly can be bad for the motor. I dont really know the settings in my old controller. The Bafang motor is however already internally geared so that it can operate at higher RPM. Yes, everything works fine but the settings are far from perfect while set to default. The reason why it doesnt show up on your computer has probably something to do with your drivers. Selecting the correct gear when riding is also important to maintain control of your bike. So this will solve your problem! In the basic tab, you can find th speed limit [%] for each pedal assist number. I just want to loosen the speed limit on the 36V 350W model. If you have a 36V battery, it should be set to 31-32V.
